 - Type A- Any involvement of the ascending aorta
 - Type B- Descending aorta only (distal to the left subclavian artery)

DeBakey
 - Type 1: Involves ascending aorta, aortic arch, and descending aorta
 - Type 2: Ascending aorta only
 - Type 3: Descending aorta only
