Description

The head impulse test (HIT) result is positive (abnormal) in nearly all patients with a peripheral cause of AVS and negative (normal) in 85% to 90% of patients with a central cause of AVS.
It cannot therefore be used as a stand-alone test. It has been validated only in patients with an AVS with nystagmus.
