Description

Meconium staining- Evidence of meconium staining in utero may be a clue to an infant who was stressed before birth. In this picture, meconium staining can be appreciated on the fingernails. Normally, the nails are white. The yellow tint is meconium staining. This suggests that the meconium was present in utero for some time prior to delivery. Staining may also be seen on the umbilical cord and the skin. #clinical #photo #newborn #peds #meconium #staining #pediatrics
