Hypoxemia in Anesthesiology - Differential Diagnosis and Management 



Management: 



• increase Fi02 to 100% - verify! 

• check ETC02 / peak airway pressure 

• hand ventilate with large volumes 

• look at chest 

• auscultate breath sounds 

• check endotracheal tube / circuit 

• suction 

• check pulse oximeters / color of patient (artefacts?) 

• arterial blood gas 

• reintubate? 

• ambu-bag / O2 tank
