Von Willebrand Disease - Most common inherited bleeding disorder 

Clinical 

 • Easy bruising 

 • Skin bleeding 

 • Prolonged bleeding from mucosal surfaces (oropharyngeal, GI. uterine) 

Laboratory 

 • Normal platelet count (mild thrombocytopenia in type 2B) 

 • Normal PT/INR 

 • Normal aPTT (prolonged if very low factor VIII) 

Treatment 

 • Desmopressin (DDAVP)
