Post Intubation Checklist

Airway

 - Inflate balloon 

 - Note tube depth 

 - Secure the tube 

 - Confirm bilateral breath sounds 

 - End tidal C02 

 - Chest X-ray 

 - Adjust tube depth if needed  

Breathing

 - Initial vent settings 

 - Obtain ABG 

 - Titrate vent settings accordingly 

Circulation

 - Repeat vitals 

 - Push dose pressors PRN 

Other

 - Aspiration precautions 

 - Analgesia first 

 - Sedation PRN (avoid benzos)
