Eosinophils (Eos) and hypereosinophilia (HE)

Caused by eosinophilopoietic cytokines

Common causes:

 - Drug reaction

 - Helminth infection

 - Allergic reaction

 - Atopic disease

Rare causes:

 - B or T cell lymphomas, Hodgkin disease

 - Lymphoid variant (e.g. CD3-CD4+ T cells)

 - Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis

 - Viral infections (HIV, HTLVI)

 - Chronic inflammatory diseases (EGPA, rheumatoid arthritis, IgG4-related disease, inflammatory bowel diseases, ...)

 - Solid tumors/malignancy

 - Immune deficiency (STAT 3, DOCK8)

 - Chronic GVHD,
