Approach to Eosinophilic Lung Diseases
 • Acute Eosinophilic Pneumonia (< 1 wk) - ~30yo, M; Recent initiation of smoking; Fever, cough, SOB
 • Chronic Eosinophilic Pneumonia (> 1 mo) - ~45yo, F; Hx of asthma/allergies; Cough, SOB, sinusitis, wheezing; +systemic: wt loss, malaise
 • Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis (Weeks) - Hx of asthma, CF; Chronic cough, brown sputum, fever, rhinitis
 • Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Weeks) - 30-40s; Rhinosinusitis, cough, SOB, hemoptysis; +systemic: wt loss, arthralgias, CV, renal
 • Hypereosinophilic Syndrome (> 6 mo) - Respiratory sx in 40%, mild; +systemic: fatigue, wt loss; CV, CNS, skin
 • Infectious (Variable) - Fungal, parasites; Travel hx, food hx; Fever, wheezing
 • Drug/Toxin (Variable) - NSAIDs, antibiotics, illicit drugs; sx similar to AEP or CEP
