Antithrombotic Therapy in Patients with Prosthetic Heart Valves - INR Targets
Mechanical Valve - Duration Lifelong
INR 3.0:
 • Any mitral valve prosthesis
 • Aortic valve prosthesis (bileaflet or current-generation single-tilting disc) WITH risk factors for thromboembolism (atrial fibrillation, prior thromboembolism, LV dysfunction, hypercoagulable state)
 • Older generation aortic valve prosthesis (ball-in-cage)
INR 2.5:
 • Aortic valve prosthesis WITHOUT risk factors for thromboembolism (atrial fibrillation, prior thromboembolism, LV dysfunction, hypercoagulable state)
Bioprosthetic Valve - Duration: at least 3 months - as long as 6 months
 • Aortic or Mitral Valve
