Biliary Circulation
1) Bile produced in the liver
2) Bile stored in the gallbladder
3) Bile excreted into the duodenum
4) Bile emulsifies fats in the small bowel
5) 95% of bile salts re-absorbed in the terminal ileum (Remaining 5% of bile salts enter the colon)
6) Re-absorbed bile salts returned to the liver via the portal vein
