Primary indications 

 - Decreased visual acuity 

 - Intraocular pressure > 40 mm Hg 

 - Proptosis 

Secondary Indications 

 - Afferent pupillary defect 

 - Cherry red macula 

 - Opthalmoplegia 

 - Nerve head pallor 

 - Eye pain 

Contraindications 

 - Globe rupture
