Description

Labyrinthitis 

Vestibular neuritis + unilateral hearing loss = Labyrinthitis 

1) Vertigo (severe) 

2) Gait instability 

3) Nausea, vomiting 

4) Unilateral hearing loss 

Clinical 

 • Benign, self-limited 

 • Possibly due to viral or postviral inflammation of vestibular CN VIII 

 • Nystagmus (unilateral, horizontal, suppressed with fixation) 

 • Positive head thrust
