Coarctation of the Aorta 



Preductal Coarctation:

Narrowing is proximal to ductus arteriosus Life-threatening if severe; seen in Turner's syndrome 

Ductal Coarctation: 

Narrowing occurs at insertion of ductus arteriosus. Appears when ductus closes 

Postductal Coarctation: 

Narrowing is distal to the ductus arteriosus; Most common in adults
