Chantix (Varenicline) - Dosing and Initiation



Chantix (varenicline) is a commonly used medication for smoking cessation! One important point is that this medication should be started 1 week prior to the patients quit date, as the medication requires a 1 week load-up dosing. A starter pack is available to with specific instructions to help patients with adhering to the appropriate doses. Full therapy should be continued for 12 weeks, with an additional 12 weeks if needed.
