Factors Indicating Low Risk Disease Severity in Crohn's Disease 

 • Limited anatomic involvement 

 • Only superficial luminal ulceration 

 • No prior surgery or exposure to corticosteroids and/or immunosuppressive therapy 

 • Mild symptoms (ambulatory patients, tolerating oral intake, stable weight and lack systemic symptoms and abdominal tenderness) 

 • Low inflammatory burden 



Factors Indicating High Risk Disease Severity in Crohn's Disease 

 • Large or deep mucosal lesions on endoscopy or imaging 

 • Fistula and/or perianal abscess 

 • Prior small bowel resection, presence of stoma 

 • Extensive disease (ileal involvement >40cm, or pancolitis) 

 • Strictures 

 • Elevated CRP and/or anemia 

 • Failure of anti TNF and/or immunosuppressive agents 

 • Steroid use within last 1 yr 

 • Symptoms of anorectal disease, daily abdominal pain
