A proposed management algorithm for CDI in patients with inflammatory bowel disease. *Severe-complicated CDI is defined by the intensive care unit admission, hypotension, temperature higher than 38.5°C, ileus/megacolon, mental status changes, leukocyte count greater than 35,000/μL or less than 2000/μL, or lactate level greater than 2.2 mmol/L.
