Characterizing activity of IFN pathway in the clinic allows:

 - Better understanding of pathophysiology

 - To propose new classifications for diseases

 - To propose new targeted therapies

 - Better stratification of patients

Limitations of the IFN score:

 - Semiquantitative analysis

 - Dynamic/variable responses and indirect measurements

 - Costly for clinical practice +++
