Causes of Peripheral Weakness - With and Without Sensory Changes - Differential Diagnosis Algorithm

With Sensory Changes:

 • Radiculopathy

 • Mononeuropathy - Compression

 • Mononeuropathy - Other

 • Polyneuropathy (Length Dependent)

 • Mononeuritis Multiplex

 • Plexopathy

 • Poly-Radiculopathy

Without Sensory Changes:

 • No Objective Weakness

 • Motor Neuron and Motor Neuropathy - Atrophy, Fasciculations, Hyperreflexia

 • Neuromuscular Junction - Fatigability, Variability, Oculomotor

 • Myopathy - Proximal muscle involvement, elevated CK
