Pathophysiology of ACE inhibitor-induced angioedema: Angioedema is a vascular reaction associated with tissue (subcutaneous, submucosal) edema resulting from increased activity of vasoactive substances. The vasoactive substances in ACE inhibitor-induced angioedema are bradykinin and substance P.
