Inpatient Cath Lab Indications

Cath Lab ASAP:

STEMI

NSTEMI:

1. Unstable/cardiogenic shock

2. Severe LV dysfunction or

3. Recurrent/persistent rest angina despite intensive medical therapy

4. New/worsening MR, new VSD

5. Sustained ventricular arrhythmia

Cath lab w/in 24 h: NSTEMI/UA, TIMI intermediate (3-4) or high (5-7) risk

Cath lab prior to d/c: NSTEMI/UA, TIMI low (1-2) risk, +ECG changes or troponin

Medical Rx: NSTEMI/UA: stable, TIMI low (1-2) risk
