Multifocal Atrial Arrhythmias on ECG

Multifocal atrial rhythm & Multifocal atrial tachycardia

ECG Recognition:

 • Variable P wave morphology of at least 3 different configurations.

 • Irregular P P, RR and PR intervals.

 • The change in P wave morphology is not gradual in contrast to WAP.

 • Some P waves are blocked or not conducted.

 • Some conducted P waves will have normal QRS morphology

 • Some conducted P waves will have a wide QRS morphology (aberrant beats) because one of the bundle branches is still refractory.
