M (Mallampati Score): essentially giving you an external assessment tool about the patient’s ability to open their mouth, their tongue size, and the ability to visualize posterior pharynx structural landmarks. It should be assessed ideally with the patient upright, mouth opened as wide as possible, and tongue protruding as far as possible. Class I and Class II (the two best views) have been associated with lower intubation failure rates. #Clinical #Diagnosis #EM #PCC #anesth #Mallampati #Classification
