Orf Virus - Cutaneous Finger Lesions



35 year old butcher presents with these lesions one week after cutting goat meat.

- Caused by Orf virus, dsDNA virus (parapoxvirus). Usually self-limited, can use topical cidofovir, imiquimod.

- The next question would be is this painful or painless. Just my clinical reasoning to avoid premature closure. Usually painless, self limiting, goat handler...orf i go, orf i go.
